This year Andover Museum is celebrating its 45th anniversary, and we’re marking the occasion with a special birthday-themed trail!
Did you know lots of famous people from history were born in May? Come along and take part in our fun Birthday Fact Trail to find out who they are! Explore the museum and search for six different people from the past. Each one has a birthday in May and a special link to Hampshire. Follow the clues, discover surprising facts, and see if you can match each person to their birthday.
Perfect for curious kids and their grown‑ups, this easy‑to‑follow trail is a great way to explore the museum together while learning something new. Pick up your trail sheet, grab a pencil, and let the birthday hunt begin!

Fred the Cat's Story Club: The Tiger who came to Tea
Fred the Cat's Magical Monthly Story Club is an exciting club for under-fives at The Lights Theatre in Andover with lots of new stories coming up.
Once a month Amanda from Merry-go-Round Storytelling will bring to life a favourite story or classic tale with music, movement, early years drama, and lots of imaginative fun. These interactive storytelling sessions are perfect for inquisitive minds and anyone who just loves stories. Sessions will include sensory props and a chance for all children to pretend to be the characters from their favourite stories.
Who is Fred the Cat?
Fred the cat is Amanda's gentle cat puppet who lives in a magic hat! Children love Fred and Fred loves stories. Fred will introduce the story for each session.
This event is suitable for ages 2+. Booking is advised.

Perfect for little makers and budding artists, our relaxed, drop‑in sessions offer a fun mix of hands‑on crafts inspired by history, nature, and the museum’s collections. Come along, get stuck in, and enjoy a creative mid‑week moment in the heart of the museum. No need to book, just drop by and make something wonderful!

Back to the Iron Age - Mini Museum Display
Step into the past and discover what life was really like over 2,000 years ago at Back to the Iron Age, every Thursday of the Hampshire school holidays! This year marks the 40th anniversary of the opening of the Iron Age Museum in Andover. To mark the occasion, we're asking you to build your own Iron Age Museum display with a selection of replicas in our collection. What story will you tell? What themes will you explore?

Tall Tales and Seasonal Stories - Jack and the Beanstalk
FE-Fi-FO-FUM! Watch out, there’s a giant on the loose!
Join Amanda from Merry-go-Round Storytelling and be part of Jack’s magical adventure of a lifetime. You’ll have fun climbing the beanstalk, outwitting the giant and seeing Jack’s fortune grow….and grow…..and GROW....! As always, expect lots of fun, games and brilliant storytelling which will leave you singing the songs on your way home. As part of the session children will also have the opportunity to plant their own magical beanstalk to celebrate new growth and the start of summer.
Suitable for ages 4 and above. Refreshments are included.

Following the huge success of ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff’, Lost The Plot Theatrical hit the road with another family classic.
Join Poppy and Pat as they excitedly leave the family sty in search of new adventures! Will they make a pig’s ear out of it, or will they raise the roof? It’ll take brains, bravery and curly-tails to build bridges and forge friendships with each other and those they meet along the way.
Get those trotters tapping and those snouts a-squealin’ with new catchy songs, dancing and plenty of audience participation for piglets of all ages.
