There’s so much happening for families in Andover this Easter holidays.

There’s so much happening for families in Andover this Easter holidays.

As the sun is shining, it is a great time to get outdoors and Andover Trees United have got lots of activities planned for all ages including special Easter activities with traditional egg painting with natural dyes and materials, followed by an easter egg hunt around the wood on 8 April and Easter Storytelling on 16 April.

You can also hunt out Easter eggs at Andover Museum throughout the school holidays, and if you fancy some crafting, drop in on 9 April to make a spring plant pot or create some Iron Age inspired paintings on 16 April. Learn more about the Iron Age on 10 & 17 April in an interactive workshops from coin making to weaving and everything in between, we'll be stepping back in time to Andover over 2000 years ago!

It's not all just for children. At Vigo Road Allotments on Saturday 12 April there’s a Community Conservation day when you can sow seeds that will later bloom in the new meadow at Harmony Woods, and there will be a special crafting activity for children. There’s also volunteer conservation days on Monday 7 and 14 April at Harmony Woods. And don’t forget Second Sundays on 13 April, where, as well as some delicious food and drink and crafts and gifts, there will be creative activities for all ages.

Why wait until Christmas for panto – catch Jack and the Beanstalk at The Lights Theatre on 7 April. Or if you are a dinosaur fan, Teach Rex uses life-like dinosaurs to tell you all about these amazing creatures on 14 April.

Create your own cardboard metropolis at the Chantry Centre with theatre designer and Cardboard Artist Sam Wilde at “Boxtropolis”, these free drop-in workshops take place on Tuesday 15 and Saturday 19 April. Whether you're a seasoned artist or a complete beginner, Sam will guide you through the exciting process of turning simple boxes into incredible structures, creating everything from towering skyscrapers to quirky houses and bustling streets.

Easter Weekend is busy in the town centre. As well as Boxtropolis, you can “Meet the Celts” at the Museum of the Iron Age, where there will be special guests showing you what live was like for people in the Iron Age. With reenactors, family activities and talks there'll be something for the whole family. On Friday 18 & Saturday 19 April, Chapel Arts’ artists will be creating incredible creative opportunities inspired by the museum’s unique collection.
