Four Fun Fridays 2025

Vibrant, creative, friendly, community, busy, lively, fantastic… these are just some of the words used by visitors to describe this year’s Four Fun Fridays events which took place in August on Andover High Street.

Jellyfish theatre delighted families with the dragon that appeared out of a caravan, dancers and a shed showed us the importance of friendship and helping each other out, and got us up congo-ing. We were charmed by the cheeky goat and huge cow puppets from Handmade Theatre Company’s Petting Farm, accompanied by beautiful music. But it wasn’t all just about watching shows, there were circus skills to master, fairy hollows to create, rotis to make and eat, insects and animals to find out about, musical instruments to play, clay to sculpt, gnomes houses to decorate, contribute to a chalk pavement artwork and many other activities.

It is great to see families returning week after week but also year on year to this event which started in 2016. Bringing families into the town centre, and providing opportunities for children to have fun, be creative and inspired and learn new skills in a relaxed, informal setting is central to the aims of these events. It is also a chance for families to meet friends and socialise, with all activities provided for free.

Thank you to everyone who came along, to all those who provided activities and those behind the scenes. Put next year’s dates in your diary – 7, 14, 21 and 28 August 2026!
